Sheep Breeding

The sheep breeding is one of the traditional subsectors in Bulgaria. Lambs meat is a diet and delicacy product with high nutritious qualities and taste, especially its very low content of cholesterol.

A large part of the lambs is raised on small local farms in the close proximity of their natural habitats. After birth, the newborn lambs are not separated from each other. Thus, the baby lambs are fed naturally on mother’s milk, which is very important for their growth. This coupled with the free-range grazing in naturally clean regions, rich in meadows and pastures, presupposes a very high quality and stress-free raising of the animals.

The rich genetic diversity - unique native breeds - robust and unpretentious, as well as the very good conditions for organic farming and stockbreeding, are prerequisites for raising of lambs, the meat of which is with fine taste and healthy qualities.

Breeds

The lambs are native breed and crossbreeds from native breeds - Breznishka sheep, West Balkan Mountains sheep, Sofia sheep, Marishka sheep, Duben sheep, Copper-Red Shumen sheep, Karakachan sheep, Koprivshtitsa sheep, Teteven sheep, Central Balkan mountain sheep, Central Rhodope sheep, Sakar sheep, Replyan sheep, Stara Zagora sheep, Local Karnobat sheep, and Pleven Blackhead sheep.

Goat Breeding

Goat breeding is one of the oldest branches of the stockbreeding in the area of Bulgaria. The goat meat has many special qualities, which make it different from all the other meat kinds and in many parts of the world, it is considered as a delicacy.

These animals have mountain and front-mountain pastures, including steep and inaccessible lands, which guarantee their ecological and natural feeding, because of which their meat is very clean. They have very good adaptation skills and could be raised as severally, as more intensive in the farms of the company.

The high demand for dietetic and ecologically clear products leads the attention exactly to the goat meat. It is richer of vitamins A, B1 and B2 than any other meat.

Breeds

In Bulgaria are raised mainly native breeds, but also some angora breeds could be found. The most widespread breeds are – Bulgarian white dairy goat and Kalofer long-haired goat.

Cattle Breeding

The cattle breeding is the leading subsector of the stockbreeding in Bulgaria, in which are developed much meat, dairy and combined directions. The calves meat has very high demand, rich in vitamin B12, it consists of steel and zinc.

After birth, the young calves are not separated from their mothers. Thus, they are fed naturally on mother’s milk which is very important for their growth. This coupled with the free-range grazing in naturally clean regions, rich in meadows and pastures, presupposes stress-free raising of the animals.

A large part of the calves are raised on small local farms in the close proximity of their natural habitats, another part has been raised on the company’s specialized bases. All the animals are provided with the necessary fodders and vitamins, helping their health and all-around good shape. The natural ways of stock-raising, as well as the high-quality rich national gene pool, are the main factors, which make the meat from these animals a preferred product with unique taste qualities.
